At age 5 I came to the realization that I loved to write.

At age 6 I began to compose short stories on scrap pieces of paper, hang them around the house and ask my parents to purchase them for 10 cents each.

At age 8 I started charging my parents 25 cents per story.

At age 23 I thought I'd try my hand at a career or two that involved no writing.

And at age 29 I realized that a career in which I could not write would never work for me. That, and a 6 year-old asking their parents to purchase their hand-written 5-word stories was a totally genius move.
